What DiskBolt does

Each screen does one job and ends in the same place: a review panel, a confirmation, and the Trash. Everything below is in the current tester build.

System Junk

Clear system junk

Find caches, logs and developer leftovers, see each category with its size, and clean only the ones you tick. Safe items start selected; backups and installers stay off until you choose them.

DiskBolt System Junk screen in dark mode: 4.1 KB selected to remove across three categories, User Caches ticked, Developer Junk and Installers unticked, a Safety note saying nothing is removed until you confirm, and a Clean button.
Uninstall

Uninstall apps and what they leave behind

Pick an app and see every file that belongs to it before anything moves. Untick anything you want to keep.

DiskBolt Uninstall screen with one test app selected, and the review panel on the right listing its one file, a note that ticked files go to the Trash, and a Move to Trash button.
Installers

Remove old installers

Find disk images and installers left in Downloads after you installed the app.

Drive Health

Check drive health

See volume status, drive verification and battery condition in one place.

Optimize

Run maintenance tasks

See which maintenance tasks need attention, what each one does, and which ones will ask for your password.

History

Keep a record

See past cleanup sessions, how much each freed, and every file moved, including any that failed.

Find build folders such as node_modules in your projects and move the ones you are done with to the Trash.

Disk Map

Planned, not available yet

These are designed but are not in the tester build. They are listed so you know what is coming, not as features you can use today.

  • Leftovers Watch: a notice when an app you removed leaves files behind.
  • Storage Alerts: notifications when free space runs low.
  • Menu bar status: a quick view of disk and system status from the menu bar.
